IT Security Bootcamp
CrySyS Lab · Apprenticeship · Budapest, Hungary
Part of my specialization at the Department of Networked Systems and Services was to choose a topic I want to explore much more deeply. I chose CrySys Lab's course: This BSc course introduces problems related to general IT security. It focuses on offensive security to demonstrate the mindset of an attacker. This is good motivational first course for IT security enthusiasts.
- Topics: IT security in practice; web security, memory corruption, low level security, reverse engineering, practical cryptography, machine learning, malware

Homelab
I have completely redesigned our home network from the ground-up. I installed CAT5e cables to every room and created a centralised location for all of the rack-mounted networking equipment in the attic. I configured everything from the router, modem, set up VLANs, APs and created different SSIDs for IoT devices. I also added multiple servers for self-hosting services like Plex, Bitwarden, Blue Iris, Nextcloud and to backup our most important files to the cloud using Backblaze B2. Furthermore, I added a loads of IoT devices to the household to monitor and control many aspects of our home. During this project, I learned a wide variety of things from crimping CAT5e cables, through basic networking to complex firewall rules.

Crypto-mining
Associated with Princeton University
I am a cryptocurrency enthusiast, thus I started using the spare-time of my desktop to sell my hash power in exchange to bitcoin. I have been mining for a few years now and I have learnt so many things about blockchain technology, finance and investing. This led to my current setup, which is a 6 GPU mining RIG in our garage. I profoundly believe that cryptocurrencies are something we have to keep our eyes on.
